What Size Wedding Welcome Sign Should You Choose?

The right wedding welcome sign size depends on the venue, viewing distance and where the sign will be displayed. For most weddings, 40 × 60cm suits a compact entrance, while 60 × 80cm creates a stronger focal point in a larger space.

40 × 60cm: best for smaller displays

A medium 40 × 60cm sign is a practical choice for a registry office, intimate ceremony, restaurant reception or entrance table. It is easy to carry and works well when guests will pass close to it.

Choose this size when the design is simple and contains only the welcome message, names and date. Avoid filling a medium sign with long schedules or multiple instructions, as smaller text becomes harder to read.

60 × 80cm: best for maximum impact

A large 60 × 80cm sign is more suitable for hotel entrances, marquees, barns and spacious reception areas. It remains readable from farther away and looks proportionate on a full-size floor easel.

This is also the better option for detailed floral borders, wide name layouts or venues where the entrance competes with other signage and décor.

Think about viewing distance

Stand where guests are likely to first see the sign. If that point is more than a few metres from the display, choose the larger format and keep the main wording bold. Good contrast matters as much as size: pale lettering on a busy photograph can become difficult to read.

Check the easel or stand

Our wedding signs are supplied as rigid 5mm Foam PVC boards; the stand is not included. Confirm the available easel dimensions with your venue or decorator before ordering. A sign should sit securely without covering the names or date.

Portrait artwork and safe margins
