Should you include the venue?

The venue name is optional. It can look elegant and help distinguish the sign in a shared hotel or event space, but it is not necessary when the display sits directly at the ceremony entrance.

What not to put on a welcome sign

Avoid long schedules, detailed directions or several separate messages. Those work better on dedicated order-of-the-day or directional signs. Too much text reduces the impact of the names and can force the font to become too small.
